KHAIRPUR: A gang of armed individuals perpetrated a violent attack in the katcha area, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals, Abdul Shakoor and Sanaullah.
Another person was abducted during the assault, which took place while farmers were working in the agricultural fields of Faiz Muhammad village near Pir Jo Goth.
The assailants swiftly fled the scene after their ruthless act. The incident has further highlighted the insecurity prevailing in the katcha area, echoing the troubling situation in neighboring districts such as Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Kandhkot in Sindh, where armed gangs operate with impunity.
Responding to the situation, SSP Khairpur Zubair Nazeer Shaikh assured that law enforcement authorities have dispatched a contingent to the area and are diligently working to secure the safe release of the abducted individual. However, the challenges persist as the law-and-order situation in the katcha area, characterized by its riverine forests along the Indus River banks, continues to deteriorate.
Despite efforts, the police department struggles to effectively maintain peace and order in the region, leaving residents vulnerable to the whims of criminal elements.
