QUETTA: Pakistan law enforcement agencies have arrested two key leaders of the banned outfit Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Balochistan.
The Balochistan Home Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove, announced the arrests during a press conference in Quetta on Wednesday.
The arrested terrorists have been identified as Nasrullah, alias “Maulvi Mansoor,” and Idris, alias “Irshad.” During the interrogation, Nasrullah disclosed his involvement in subversive activities under the guidance of Baitullah Mehsud and revealed his escape to Afghanistan during Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
“We have apprehended an important terrorist network. The militants were arrested after a difficult operation,” stated Home Minister.
Nasrullah further revealed that all TTP leadership, including Mufti Noor Wali, is present in Afghanistan and enjoys full support of the Afghan Taliban. He mentioned that Bashir Zeb is also in Afghanistan, and they receive backing from external forces, with Mufti Noor Wali meeting Bashir Zeb at the Indian Embassy.
The arrested terrorist expressed regret for his past actions and sought forgiveness from Allah and the people. He claimed that the goal of the BLA-TTP alliance is to create a narrative around missing persons due to kidnappings for ransom, noting that many missing individuals are also in Afghanistan.
Balochistan Interior Minister Ziaullah Langove played a video statement from Nasrullah Mehsud, in which he confessed to carrying out sabotage operations against Pakistan Army check posts on the Pakistan-Afghan border, including in South Waziristan, North Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Nasrullah expressed shame for his past life and asked for forgiveness, reiterating that the BLA-TTP alliance aims to manipulate the narrative of missing people. He confirmed that many of these individuals are in Afghanistan.
