PESHAWAR: At least two policemen were martyred and three others injured in an attack on a police check post in Takhta Beg area of Khyber district on Thursday. According to police, a suicide bomber blew himself at a police post. The local police said that one policeman was martyred and three others injured in the attack. However, sources said that two policemen were martyred in the attack.
The police claimed that the policemen present at the post opened firing at the suicide bomber, who blew himself up near the check post. The dead and injured have been shifted to nearby hospital. The banned militants group, TTP, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat, the terrorists opened firing at policemen, who were conducting search operation against militants in Ihsanpur area. The exchange firing between the terrorists and policemen continued for hours. The terrorists targeted the vehicle of the DSP with rocket, which was destroyed. The police has sent reinforcement to the area.
Meanwhile, the chief minister Mehmood Khan has taken notice of the terrorists attacks on police and sought report from IG police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
