Security forces eliminated two terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in the Washuk district of Balochistan, security sources confirmed on Monday.
The operation took place in the Palantak area of Washuk and formed part of the broader Operation Rad-ul-Fitna, an ongoing campaign targeting India-sponsored militants active across the province, sources added.
Militants Linked to Earlier Attacks
Officials said the two terrorists killed in Washuk had been involved in previous attacks on the Mashkel police station as well as a local Customs House. During the raid, security personnel destroyed the militants’ vehicle and recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.
According to sources, the seized arms were meant to be used for targeting unarmed Baloch civilians and carrying out further militant activity in the region. Security officials reaffirmed that operations against Fitna al-Hindustan will continue until the group’s presence in Balochistan is fully dismantled.
Rising Violence Across KP and Balochistan
Pakistan has seen a marked increase in militant activity, particularly across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban’s return to power in 2021. A recent report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) identified these two provinces as the country’s primary centers of violence during the second quarter of 2026, with KP bearing the heaviest impact.
Per the report, KP and Balochistan combined were responsible for nearly 96% of all violence-related deaths recorded nationwide during the quarter. KP alone accounted for over 61% of these fatalities, totaling 475 deaths, while Balochistan recorded 265 deaths, making up 34% of the total.
In terms of incidents, KP logged 151 violent events, representing 57% of the national count, while Balochistan reported 94 incidents, or roughly 35%. The figures highlight how militant violence remains heavily concentrated in these two provinces, reinforcing the significance of operations like the one conducted in Washuk.
