KARACHI: A team of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE, led by Abdullah Al Kaabi, Senior Director of Avsec Affairs, has commenced a security assessment at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
The two-member team from GCAA – UAE, under the leadership of Abdullah Al Kaabi, was welcomed upon arrival by Air Cdre (R) Shahid Qadir, Director Avsec PCAA. The opening meeting was attended by APM Irfan Khan and all relevant airport stakeholders.
Over the next four days, the team will inspect the implementation of various security measures at the airport, with a specific focus on measures for flights to the UAE.
This assessment is hosted by the Aviation Security Directorate of PCAA and is part of the ongoing collaborative efforts between GCAA – UAE and PCAA to enhance aviation security standards in Pakistan.
Earlier, a delegation from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE, also led by Abdullah Al Kaabi, conducted a security assessment of Islamabad International Airport. During that assessment, the team focused on the implementation of security measures related to flights bound for the UAE.
The ongoing assessments, hosted by the Aviation Security Directorate of PCAA, highlight the continuous collaborative efforts between GCAA-UAE and PCAA to strengthen aviation security standards in Pakistan. Abdullah Al Kaabi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s aviation security system through capacity and capability building.
The opening meeting in Islamabad was attended by Aftab Gilani, APM/COO, and all relevant airport stakeholders.
