ISLAMABAD – The UAE visa policy for Pakistanis has not changed in terms of any official ban, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified on Wednesday. The statement came in response to a query raised by Dr Nafisa Shah in the National Assembly.
The Ministry shared that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed there is no official visa restriction on Pakistani citizens. A formal letter from the UAE Embassy stated that their Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has simply introduced a new five-year visa policy.
As per the new UAE visa policy for Pakistanis, applicants now need to submit specific documents. These include a return air ticket, confirmed hotel reservation, proof of property ownership (if applicable), and an advance deposit of AED3,000.
However, the ministry pointed out that certain issues have led to increased scrutiny of Pakistani applicants under the updated UAE visa policy for Pakistanis. One of the major concerns has been the submission of fake degrees, forged diplomas, and counterfeit job contracts by some individuals.
The authorities also flagged that a number of Pakistani nationals have overstayed their visas. Some have even been involved in political activities and criminal offences. Moreover, misuse of social media by a few members of the Pakistani community has also raised red flags.
These factors have contributed to tighter checks under the revised UAE visa policy for Pakistanis. The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has taken up these matters seriously. It has engaged with UAE officials at both ministerial and under-secretary levels to resolve concerns.
The Ministry’s Middle East Division has also remained in close contact with the UAE Embassy in Islamabad. Senior officers have consistently raised the issue to ensure transparency and smooth facilitation of the visa process.
According to the Ministry, recommendation letters are regularly sent to the UAE Embassy in Islamabad to support visa issuance for Pakistani applicants. The UAE authorities have clearly denied any official visa ban on Pakistani nationals. The matter, as per the Ministry, is one of procedural checks—not prohibition.
The UAE visa policy for Pakistanis continues, with stricter but manageable conditions aimed at maintaining security and authenticity.
