The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has denied reports circulating on social media that it has imposed a visa ban on Pakistanis.
The UAE’s Consulate General, Bakheet Obaid Al-Roumi, issued a video statement refuting the false propaganda. According to Al-Roumi, there is no visa ban for Pakistanis, and the visa section at the UAE consulate remains open. Pakistanis are free to travel to the UAE for work visas, and there is no age limit for those seeking to enter the country.
In other news, Dubai has eased travel rules for divorced parents traveling with their children. The new procedure, announced by Dubai Courts on Thursday, permanently cancels a travel ban with the sponsor’s approval, simplifying the process for parents and their children to enter and exit the UAE.
According to the official UAE government portal, in cases of divorce, custody is usually granted to mothers while fathers serve as ‘guardians’ responsible for the child’s financial support. Previously, exiting the country with a child without the other parent’s consent could be considered ‘child abduction,’ with serious legal consequences. The new rules aim to alleviate such issues.
