US-Iran Peace Talks: Pakistan Pushes Mediation as Trump Signals Possible Action Amid Rising Tensions

Pakistan has stepped up diplomatic efforts on Thursday to advance US-Iran peace talks as tensions continue between Iran and United States over the stalled nuclear and ceasefire process.

President Donald Trump warned he may wait only a few days for the right response from Tehran and signalled possible military action if progress fails in US-Iran peace talks. He also reiterated that Iran must not acquire a nuclear weapon, while rising fuel prices continue to pressure global markets and his domestic approval rating.

Sources said Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir will decide whether to travel to Tehran as part of mediation efforts. Pakistan’s interior minister also visited Iran to support communication channels between both sides.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a major concern as shipping disruptions continue. Iran has introduced new controls over the waterway, raising fears of further escalation in global oil supply chains.

Officials say all sides are still exchanging proposals, but progress remains slow. Pakistan continues its mediation role, hoping US-Iran peace talks can move toward a stable agreement before tensions escalate further.
