US, Israel Launch Joint Strikes on Iran; Tehran Retaliates, Explosions Rock Tel Aviv

US, Israel Strike Iran; Tehran Hits Back at Tel Aviv

Tehran: The United States and Israel carried out coordinated military strikes across Iran on Saturday, targeting multiple locations in and around Tehran. Iranian authorities confirmed that the country responded with ballistic missile attacks under what it called Operation Fatah Khyber, triggering air raid sirens across Israel, including in Tel Aviv.

According to Iranian media reports, nearly 30 locations were targeted from air and sea. Initial strikes reportedly hit areas close to the office compound of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as well as government installations in the capital. Explosions were also reported in Isfahan, Qom, Karaj and Kermanshah.

Iranian officials said the presidential office area was also struck. Several missiles allegedly landed near University Street in Tehran. Authorities claimed military facilities and intelligence buildings were among the targets. Casualty figures have not yet been officially confirmed.

Iran Responds with Ballistic Missiles

In response, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones towards Israel, naming the counter-offensive “Fatah Khyber.” Sirens sounded across the country, while explosions were reported in Tel Aviv and parts of northern Israel.

Israeli authorities declared a nationwide emergency. Schools were closed and residents were instructed to remain near shelters. Public gatherings were restricted as security forces assessed the situation.

Trump Confirms US Role

US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces were involved in the operation alongside Israel. He stated that the objective was to neutralise security threats posed by Iran and prevent Tehran from advancing its nuclear capabilities.

“Our goal is to protect American citizens and eliminate the threat posed by the Iranian regime,” Trump said, adding that the military operation could continue for several days if necessary.

He also reiterated that Iran “must never obtain a nuclear weapon.”

Airspace Closed, Regional Alert Issued

Iran shut down its airspace following the strikes. Iraq also announced the closure of its airspace as a precautionary measure. Hospitals across Tehran were placed on high alert.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that communication networks in parts of Iran were disrupted. Trading was suspended after the Tehran stock market reportedly crashed amid the escalating crisis.

In Bahrain and Qatar, US diplomatic missions shifted staff to secure locations due to security concerns.

Pakistani Advisory Issued

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised citizens to avoid travel to Iran until further notice. Pakistanis currently residing in Iran were urged to remain cautious and stay in contact with diplomatic missions.

The rapidly escalating conflict marks one of the most serious confrontations between the US, Israel and Iran in recent years. Diplomatic efforts now appear uncertain as both sides exchange military strikes.

Authorities in all three countries remain on high alert as the situation continues to unfold.
