WASHINGTON D.C: John Kirby said that the US has fully prepared for Défense after threats of potential attacks by Iran and its supporters in the Middle East last week White House National Security Spokesperson
Kirby said that the US has increased military power in the region and has the same concerns as Israel regarding threats from Iran and Lebanon. He stated, ‘We have the same concerns and expectations as our Israeli counterparts regarding Iran and Lebanon, and we must be prepared for a significant package of attacks.’
The White House spokesperson added, ‘We do not want Israel to have to defend itself against another attack, as it did in April, but if it happens, we will continue to support them in their Défense.’ The Pentagon announced on Sunday that Défense Secretary Lloyd Austin had ordered the deployment of a guided-missile submarine to the Middle East and the acceleration of the deployment of the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the region. However, a US official told Reuters that the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently near the South China Sea and may take over a week to reach the Middle East.”
