The United States has urged Afghan Taliban to take action against terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan and implement stricter measures against terrorism within its borders.
Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US State Department, stressed the importance of Afghanistan fulfilling its commitment to prevent terrorist activities on its territory.
“We are resolute in our expectation that Afghanistan will ensure its territory is not used for terrorism,” Miller stated. He also emphasized the Taliban’s obligation to fulfill its promises on counter-terrorism made to the international community.
Miller emphasized that Afghanistan must prevent the establishment of safe havens for terrorist organizations, such as al-Qaeda and ISIS, within its borders.
