Veteran Lollywood actor Asim Bukhari has passed away at the age of 76, family sources confirmed on Thursday.
According to the family, the senior actor slipped into a coma late last night and later breathed his last. He had been undergoing treatment at a hospital for the past two weeks.
Family members said that Asim Bukhari had been suffering from kidney and heart-related illnesses for a long time.
Career in television, theatre and film
Asim Bukhari built a long career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. He performed in television dramas, stage plays, and films.
Over the years, he earned recognition for his powerful performances and versatile acting. Many in the industry considered him one of the most talented actors of his generation.
Following the news of his death, several members of Pakistan’s showbiz community expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to his contributions.
Meanwhile, reports said that his son Jalal Bukhari is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in London due to gallstones.
Family sources said he remains under medical care.
