PESHAWAR: A wanted terrorist commander has been neutralized in an intelligence-based security forces operation in the Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said a military statement on Friday.
On the night of September 28th to 29th, 2023, security forces engaged terrorists in two separate incidents in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, read the ISPR statement.
The intelligence-based operation was carried out in the general area of Katalang, Mardan district, resulting in the elimination of a high-value target, terrorist ring leader Faisal. Faisal was a wanted terrorist involved in numerous criminal activities, said ISPR adding security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from his possession.
In another encounter with terrorists in the general area of Parachinar, Kurram District, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists. Unfortunately, Lance Naik Ghairat Khan, aged 33 and a resident of Kurram district, valiantly fought and embraced Shahadat.
ISPR further said in a statement that the security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country. Such sacrifices by our brave soldiers only strengthen our determination.
