Waziristan 1 Plate Sells for Rs40.6m in Historic Auction

A historic auction of personalized choice number plates drew massive public interest at the arena hall of Qayyum Sports Complex, where record-breaking bids were placed for unique vehicle registration numbers.

The standout plate, “Waziristan 1,” emerged as the most expensive, selling for more than Rs40.6 million. The winning bid was placed by Faizur Rehman, making it one of the highest prices ever recorded in such auctions.

During the event, “Mohmand 1” also attracted intense competition and was sold for Rs32.1 million to Haji Zahir Gul, becoming the second-highest bid of the auction.

Meanwhile, the “Pashtun 1” number plate secured the third-highest bid, selling for Rs13.2 million.

Participants at the auction showed strong enthusiasm, highlighting the growing demand for distinctive and identity-based number plates. Buyers appeared willing to spend large sums to secure unique registrations.

Officials said the bidding process is ongoing, and more high-value bids are expected as the auction continues.
