Meta-owned instant messenger WhatsApp is introducing an innovative feature to its iOS app with the fresh chat theme feature, which will be available in a future update.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has recently rolled out version 24.11.10.70 through the TestFlight beta Program, with the highlight being the introduction of chat bubble color customization.
The aim behind this enhancement is to offer users a more personalized messaging experience by allowing them to select their preferred chat bubble color. The feature is currently in development, with WhatsApp reportedly refining it by including a new default chat theme feature.
In the future update, users will find a section where they can choose the default chat theme for the app. Similar to the main branding color selection feature, users will be able to pick from five different colors for the default chat theme, along with choosing a wallpaper. The selected color will automatically become the default chat theme, adjusting both the wallpaper and bubble color accordingly.
This introduction of diverse color options will provide users with more aesthetic freedom in their chats. However, it’s important to note that any changes made by users with this feature will only affect their own chats and not the appearance of the receiver’s chats.
