WhatsApp now allows users to post brief text updates similar to Instagram Notes. These updates appear in the About section and help users share quick thoughts or explain why they may not be available. The Meta-owned platform aims to create better conversation starters and improve real time communication.
WhatsApp highlights that this idea is not completely new. The app’s early version allowed simple text updates before WhatsApp shifted its focus toward secure messaging. The updated feature makes the About status far more visible and easier to use.
How the New Feature Works
Contacts will see these short updates at the top of their one on one chats and directly on profile pages. Users can tap on the About status inside a chat and instantly reply. These notes will vanish after 24 hours, just like Instagram Notes.
WhatsApp confirms that the new feature will roll out to mobile users starting this week. The update supports trending search interests such as WhatsApp new feature, WhatsApp update 2025, Instagram Notes alternative, and Meta social tools.
X Rolls Out New Profile Details
At the same time, Elon Musk’s platform X has launched new profile details to improve account transparency. Users have already spotted an About this account section on their profiles.
The new section shows:
• Where an account is based
• How many times it changed its username
• When it joined the platform
• How the app was downloaded, such as from Google Play or the US App Store
This move comes as concerns grow over bots and fake accounts, especially as AI tools become easier to misuse.
