KARACHI: Humayun Jamshed, brother of prominent religious preacher and naatkhwan Junaid Jamshed, has said that experts had advised them to wait for DNA results of the body of his brother.
Speaking to media outside his residence in Karachi, Humayun Jamshed said, they would wait for DNA results till Wednesday.
“We will leave for Islamabad Wednesday to see DNA results. Receive body of Junaid Jamshed and take it to Karachi after it,” Humayun said.
After receiving the DNA results, Junaid’s funeral prayers will be held at Moin Khan Academy Ground DHA in Karachi on Thursday, he added.
About the burial, he said Junaid body will be buried at Darul Uloom Korangi Karachi.
On Monday, the dead body of Junaid Jamshed had finally been identified. This was confirmed by deputy commissioner Islamabad Mushtaq Ahmed.
He said that the body was identified from a history of his teeth and an x-ray of his face.
Junaid was one of the passengers of the ill-fated PK-661, which crashed at Havelian as it was making its way from Chitral to Islamabad. He was among the tragic air crash which also killed 47 passengers aboard the aircraft.
The religious preacher was travelling along with his wife Nahya Junaid who was also identified earlier on Monday. Her body was shifted to DHQ Rawalpindi.
According to family sources, Nahya’s funeral prayer will be offered in Lahore.
