WASHINGTON: The World Bank has approved a $1 billion loan for Pakistan, earmarked for the Dasu Hydropower Project.
According to a statement from the World Bank, this funding will be allocated to the first phase of the project, aimed at enhancing the supply of hydropower in the country.
World Bank officials highlighted that the Dasu Hydropower Project is expected to generate between 4,320 and 5,400 megawatts of low-cost electricity upon completion.
They emphasized that this project has the potential to be a transformative development for Pakistan’s energy sector.
