Yemen’s Huthi rebels threatened to target vessels heading to Israeli ports unless humanitarian aid is allowed into Gaza.
This follows a series of maritime attacks by the Huthis in the Red Sea amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The rebels expanded their target scope to include all ships bound for Israel, irrespective of nationality.
Israel rejected the naval siege, urging international action. The French military reported intercepting two drones from Yemen, and the Huthis warned against dealing with Israeli ports in the Red Sea. G7 ministers called for an end to threats to shipping.
