Zardari extends support to PAT for justice to Model Town victims

LAHORE: After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has also expressed solidarity with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to ensure justice to the victims of Model Town massacre.
The political situation in the country has taken new turn after the Punjab government released report of the incident on the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC) as PAT chief Tahir-ul-Qadri has directed the workers to be ready for protest.
In a telephonic conversation with Qadri, Asif Zardari said that PPP is with PAT as the martyrs should get justice at any cost. He also informed PAT chief that he will be meeting him in Lahore today (Thursday).
On the other hand, PAT spokesman said that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has already assured to support the PAT protest.
He further said that Tahir-ul-Qadri will devise strategy regarding protest after consulting his lawyers and core committee.
Dr Qadri addressed a press conference in the provincial capital during which he instructed workers of the political party to remain alert and prepare to protest against the government seeking justice for lives lost in deadly clashes in Model Town.
PAT chief said that the party would get hands on the ‘real report’ after court’s order are issued. He said that the dates mentioned in the commission report give birth to suspicions. He claimed that the report has enough content to hold chief minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah responsible for the innocent lives.
Dr Qadri hailed the report as an unbiased account of a judge over the incident. He felicitated Justice Ali Baqar Najafi for compiling an alleged unbiased report.
