ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released the final list of candidates for the upcoming Senate elections scheduled for April 2.
Among the 48 Senate seats, 18 senators from Balochistan and Punjab provinces have been elected unopposed, leaving 30 seats to be contested on April 2 with 59 candidates in 8 Senators Elected Unopposed, 30 Seats to be Contested on April 2:
In Punjab, seven candidates secured general seats without opposition, while elections will be held for two women and two technocrats from the province.
Similarly, all 11 candidates from Balochistan claimed their seats unopposed.
The Sindh Assembly is set to elect 12 senators, including seven general seats, two each for women and technocrats, and one for a minority.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 11 senate seats will be contested, including one general and one technocrat seat from the federal capital.
The ECP also enforced a comprehensive code of conduct, promoting transparency and fairness in the electoral process. The code prohibits corrupt practices and the use of public office to influence election outcomes, aiming to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
