An audio recording allegedly featuring Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has surfaced. In the recording, she is seen addressing party members in Peshawar. The audio was leaked just days before the PTI plans a protest march on November 24 to demand the release of Imran Khan from Adiala Jail.
Imran Khan has been in prison for over a year, facing several charges. Last week, he issued a “final call” for a nationwide protest, citing allegations of election rigging, the arrest of party workers, and the passage of the 26th Amendment. He urged his supporters to march to Islamabad on Sunday, November 24.
The leaked audio appears to capture Bushra Bibi passing on Imran Khan’s message to PTI members for the protest. In the recording, she stresses the importance of not just having party workers attend the protest, but also bringing in ordinary citizens. She asks PTI legislators to document the event, asking them to make videos of the protest caravans, vehicles, and participants.
She also emphasizes preparing for potential communication disruptions, such as internet shutdowns, during the protest. The PTI leadership has called this movement a “do-or-die” effort to secure Imran Khan’s release. Bushra Bibi urges social media activists and YouTubers to share real-time videos of the protest caravans.
Furthermore, Bushra Bibi advises PTI lawmakers to ensure the safety of protest participants. She asks local MNAs and MPAs to take care of injured workers and prevent arrests. She stresses that no one should be detained, and lawmakers should avoid being arrested themselves.
In the audio, Bushra Bibi also mentions the importance of documenting each rally before joining the main protest. She warns that PTI legislators who fail to send videos of their local rallies won’t receive party tickets in the future.
Highlighting the significance of the November 24 protest, she says it is a crucial test of loyalty to Imran Khan. She believes that around 500,000 people could take part. She also states that failing to group for the protest at this time shows disloyalty to Khan.
Shaukat Yousafzai, a PTI leader, confirmed the authenticity of the nine-minute audio. He stated that it was indeed Bushra Bibi speaking at a recent meeting in Peshawar.
