The 30th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup in Malaysia kicks off today, featuring Pakistan facing the host team in their inaugural match at 5:30 pm.
According to the International Hockey Federation, six teams will participate in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: Canada, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Korea.
Following the tournament, all teams except Japan will journey to Poland to partake in the FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup.
The event, running until May 11 in Ipoh, Malaysia, begins with a round-robin stage where each team will compete against one another, followed by playoffs.
Teams at the bottom of the league stage will vie for fifth place, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete for the bronze medal. The top two teams will clash in the final for the prestigious title.
