ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan wife Bushra Bibi has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the notification declaring Banigala as a sub-jail in the Toshakhana case verdict.
In her plea, Bushra Bibi requests to be transferred to Adiala Jail as originally ordered in the Toshakhana case. She also urges the court to revoke the January 31 notification issued by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration declaring Banigala as a sub-jail.
In related news, Bushra Bibi was arrested by women police from Adiala Jail in connection with the Toshakhana reference case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued a final call-up notice to Bushra Bibi in December 2023, summoning her to appear before the Rawalpindi office on December 11 for the Toshakhana case. The notice alleges that during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister, Bushra Bibi received and retained gifts from foreign dignitaries worth millions of rupees, violating established procedures.
According to NAB, she received various items over the years, including jewelry pieces, which she allegedly failed to deposit in the Toshakhana as required by law.
NAB has requested Bushra Bibi to appear before them along with the mentioned items to provide clarifications regarding the matter.
