The Afghanistan Security Watch reported at least 39 security incidents in Afghanistan during December. The organization shared this information in a statement on Thursday. Out of these incidents, 25 were confirmed by independent sources.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front was responsible for 12 attacks on the Taliban, while the National Resistance Front carried out six during this period. The statement also revealed that one security incident was executed by ISIS-K, and six others were linked to unknown perpetrators. These incidents occurred in Kabul, Badghis, Herat, Parwan, and Nangarhar provinces.
The report highlighted that the number of security incidents in December was three fewer than in November. However, the incidents verified by independent sources increased by 10 compared to the previous month. The Afghanistan Freedom Front accounted for the highest number of attacks against the Taliban in December.
According to the Afghanistan Security Watch, the Afghanistan Freedom Front and the National Resistance Front claimed responsibility for killing 67 Taliban members. Additionally, they reported injuring 64 Taliban fighters during the month. Both fronts emphasized that no civilians were harmed in their attacks.
The National Resistance Front and the Afghanistan Freedom Front are political-military organizations opposing the Taliban. These groups are led from outside Afghanistan and continue their resistance through coordinated efforts.
