ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved jail trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in the contempt of the election commission case.
Deputy Director of Law, Saima Janjua, issued a reserved verdict on the contempt of Election Commission case, approving the trial of PTI’s founder chairman and Fawad Chaudhry to take place in Adiala Jail.
The Election Commission had initially reserved its decision regarding the trial venue, and now it has been confirmed that the proceedings will occur in Adiala Jail.
The contempt of Election Commission case against Imran Khan and former minister Fawad Chaudhry is scheduled for a hearing on December 13 in Adiala Jail, as instructed by the Election Commission. Additionally, the Interior Ministry has been directed to finalize the legal rules and regulations within two days.
