US Vice President JD Vance has said that peace in the Middle East remains a top priority for Washington and highlighted Pakistan’s positive contribution to ongoing peace efforts.
Vance made the remarks during the Burgenstock talks, where global leaders gathered to discuss regional stability and future cooperation. He said Pakistan’s role in the peace process has been widely appreciated internationally.
He also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for peace efforts, calling the army chief an “outstanding military leader” who played an important role in supporting dialogue and stability in the region.
Vance added that the United States also seeks constructive engagement from Iran to help improve regional peace and long-term stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking at the same forum, said the current moment offers a real opportunity for global peace. He noted that leaders from different countries had come together with a shared goal of promoting stability and cooperation.
He said peace talks became possible under what he called the “visionary leadership” of US President Donald Trump. He also credited Field Marshal Asim Munir for his key role in supporting the progress of negotiations.
Sharif expressed hope that continued cooperation between countries would help build lasting peace, unity, and stability across the world.
Qatar’s Prime Minister also spoke at the event and praised both Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. He said the peace process is still in its early stages but carries significant global importance.
He added that joint efforts are ongoing and stressed that the latest developments matter not only for the Middle East but also for broader global peace and security.
