LAHORE: A German tourist, Berg Florian, was attacked and robbed by armed men in Lahore, a city renowned for its hospitality.
The 27-year-old, who traveled to Pakistan by bicycle, was camping near the airport and asleep when the assault occurred.
According to Florian, the assailants stole an expensive cellphone, cash, and a camera worth Rs500,000 before fleeing the scene.
He recounted his ordeal to the police, noting that he was severely beaten and nearly unconscious when he managed to reach a Rangers’ office on his bicycle.
He collapsed there and was subsequently taken to a Rangers’ hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that Florian was later transported to a police station, where an FIR was lodged based on his complaint.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantt Owais Shafiq confirmed that an investigation has begun, with police examining CCTV footage and searching the airport and surrounding areas for the suspects.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran has also taken notice of the incident and requested a detailed report from SP Shafiq.
