The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the ambassadors for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025. Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is among the distinguished names selected to represent the prestigious tournament.
Joining him as ambassadors are former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, New Zealand’s experienced pacer Tim Southee, and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson. Their inclusion brings star power and excitement to the event, which is set to showcase top-tier international cricket.
Champions Trophy 2025: Key Details
The tournament will feature eight teams competing from February 19 to March 9, 2025, across three major Pakistani cities: Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. However, in a significant development, India’s matches will be staged in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined to send its team to Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Stadiums Get a Makeover
Ahead of the event, Pakistan has been upgrading its cricket infrastructure. The National Stadium Karachi was officially reopened with a spectacular fireworks display, marking the completion of its renovations.
Similarly, on February 7, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium was reopened following a 117-day renovation period. The venue now boasts modern LED floodlights, larger score screens, upgraded seating arrangements, and new hospitality boxes, ensuring a world-class experience for players and fans alike.
