ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday summoned the Defense Secretary, Interior Secretary, Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad, and the Director General (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with the case of two missing brothers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azhar Mashwani.
The case was heard by IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, following a petition filed for the recovery of Mashwani’s missing brothers. The petitioner’s lawyers and the Assistant Attorney General were present in court.
During the hearing, the Assistant Attorney General informed the court that reports from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior had been submitted, stating that the security agencies have no information regarding the whereabouts of the two brothers.
Justice Miangul Hassan expressed displeasure at this response and warned that he might initiate contempt of court proceedings against the relevant parties.
The court subsequently ordered the Defense Secretary, Interior Secretary, IG Islamabad, and DG FIA to appear in person on August 15.
