Security forces foiled a terrorist attack that took place on the night of 27-28 January 2024 in Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah district, Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that a group identified as “Khawariji” attempted to infiltrate a security forces post.
The attackers tried to ram a vehicle loaded with explosives into the perimeter wall of the post. In the ensuing gunfight, all five attackers, including the two suicide bombers, were killed.
However, ISPR also reported that two soldiers, Naik Tahir Khan (39, from Tank district) and Lance Naik Tahir Iqbal (26, from Karak district), embraced martyrdom in the intense gunfight. The ISPR praised their bravery and sacrifice.
Clean-up operations are underway at the scene and authorities are investigating to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
The ISPR statement underscored the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism and reiterated their resolve in the face of these losses.
