Peshawar: Authorities have arrested another suspect in the ongoing Kohistan financial scandal arrest case involving multi-billion-rupee bank transactions, officials said on Friday.
According to investigators, the accused — Fazal Khan — was presented before an accountability court in Peshawar in connection with the Kohistan financial scandal arrest proceedings.
During the hearing, prosecutors from the National Accountability Bureau told the court the suspect owns a private construction company and large sums were transferred through multiple bank accounts linked to him.
The prosecution informed the judge that transactions worth Rs5.277 billion were traced across five different bank accounts. NAB argued that further interrogation of the suspect was necessary to determine the money trail.
After hearing arguments, the accountability court approved a six-day physical remand and handed Fazal Khan over to NAB for investigation.
Officials said the probe is part of a broader crackdown linked to alleged financial irregularities in Upper Kohistan, with more arrests expected as inquiries continue.
