The National Emergency Operations Center of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecasted more rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rains expected in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan starting today.
According to an NDMA statement, these torrential rains may lead to flash flooding in areas including Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, and Swabi.
The NDMA has urged relevant authorities and the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the potential impacts of flooding and landslides. It has instructed all concerned departments to alert Emergency Response Teams and mobilize resources for a swift response to any arising situations. Tourists are advised to avoid traveling to these areas during the forecasted period.
