Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Chinese counterpart, Qi Yanjun, on Wednesday to discuss security cooperation between Pakistan and China. Both leaders agreed to strengthen collaboration between the Islamabad Police and the Beijing Police.
The high-level meeting lasted two hours and covered key aspects of law enforcement. The discussion focused on modern policing techniques, intelligence sharing, and paramilitary support. Officials highlighted the need for stronger border security measures for paramilitary forces.
During the talks, both sides emphasized the importance of security cooperation in adopting advanced policing methods. Pakistan aims to equip its law enforcement agencies with modern resources. Minister Naqvi stressed that upgrading the police force would enhance operational capabilities.
The meeting also explored the acquisition of police technology and equipment from China. Officials expressed satisfaction with the ongoing partnership between the National Police Academy and Chinese institutions. They noted positive outcomes from the Joint Working Group meeting held in January.
Security cooperation efforts will continue through training programs and resource sharing. Both countries agreed that these initiatives would improve law enforcement efficiency. Naqvi formally invited Qi Yanjun to visit Pakistan, reaffirming their commitment to deeper security ties.
