In preparation for the upcoming 2024 general election in Islamabad, the Election Commission of Pakistan unveiled a report on Monday, disclosing a significant surge in registered voters, surpassing 128 million.
The report details an increase in male voters to 69,263,704 and female voters to 59,322,056, with a corresponding ratio of 53.87 percent males and 46.13 percent females nationwide.
Notably, the capital city, Islamabad, contributes 1,083,029 citizens to the overall voting population.
Comparatively, an earlier report this year revealed that the total number of registered voters in Pakistan had exceeded 126 million by June 30, 2023, with a gender distribution of 54.02 percent males and 45.98 percent females.
