ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Under-19 national cricket team will participate in a 50-over U-19 tri-series against hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan this November, announced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) this week.
The series opener will see Pakistan face off against the UAE, although the venue is yet to be confirmed. The tournament will follow a double-league format, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
“This series is a lead-up to the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024 and will provide an excellent opportunity for the three teams to finalize their preparations for the competition,” the PCB stated on Wednesday.
Usman Wahla, PCB Director International, expressed gratitude to the Emirates Cricket Board for organizing the tri-series, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between the two boards and their commitment to developing young players.
The Under-19 platform has been instrumental in nurturing young talent, with many players advancing to represent their countries in senior national squads.
