ISLAMABAD: On Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the issuance of a special postage stamp titled “Azam-e-Istehkam” to honor Arshad Nadeem, the nation’s star javelin thrower.
This commemorative stamp symbolizes Pakistan’s dedication to progress, stability, and the resilient spirit of its people. It not only celebrates Nadeem’s remarkable achievement of setting a new Olympic record with a javelin throw of 92.97 meters at the Paris Olympics but also underscores Pakistan’s historical journey to independence.
Featuring the Minar-e-Pakistan, the stamp serves as a tribute to the country’s struggle for freedom, with the title “Azam-e-Istehkam” reflecting national resolve and determination.
Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal performance has made him a national hero and a role model for youth, embodying the resilience and spirit of Pakistan. In addition to this honor, President Asif Ali Zardari has directed that Nadeem be awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards.
Nadeem’s achievement in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024, where he set a new record with a throw of 92.97 meters, has brought great pride to the nation.
