RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir on Sunday extended deep condolences with Iranian military leadership over the sad demise of President Ebrahim Raisi, and other important officials in helicopter crash on May 19.
In a telephone call with Chief of General Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri, General Asim Munir expressed deep grief over the sad and unfortunate incident of helicopter which led to demise of the Iranian President, the Foreign Minister and other high officials.
In his conversation, the COAS expressed that Late Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian were exceptional leaders and true friends of Pakistan.
He highlighted that loss of both the leaders and others was truly tragic and irreparable.
On behalf of all ranks of the Pakistan Army, General Munir offered prayers for the departed souls and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He reaffirmed the historic, cultural, and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran, noting that the armed forces of both countries have always stood together in solidarity.
In response, Major General Bagheri thanked General Munir for his heartfelt condolences and expressed his commitment to continuing the cooperation between the two militaries.
