Pakistani security forces took down six more Indian drones on Friday. These enemy drones were shot down over multiple districts in Punjab. With this operation, the number of downed drones now stands at 77, according to official military sources.
All six Indian drones were reportedly of Israeli origin. The coordinated response targeted the aerial threats in Okara, Pakpattan, and Vehari. Four of them were brought down in Okara, while one each was destroyed in Pakpattan and Vehari.
Security officials confirmed that the Indian drones violated Pakistan’s airspace. These drones were tracked on radar before being neutralised. A military spokesperson stated, “Our air defence system can detect and engage even small drones.” He explained that the operation followed a well-established protocol, especially in zones near civilian areas and commercial flight paths.
Local police said the wreckage fell in agricultural lands. The crash sites were close to the populated areas of villages 154L and 114L. Fortunately, no one was hurt during Thursday’s incident.
One police official said, “As soon as the drones entered our airspace, they were tracked and shot down.” He added that prompt action by the military averted any civilian loss. Security teams secured all crash sites and collected the debris for inspection.
According to the ISPR Director General, the enemy drones are being monitored 24/7. He said, “All such movements are instantly addressed as per our operational strategy. Our radar systems are always watching.”
Earlier this week, another Indian drone was destroyed in Jassar village of Narowal. Eyewitnesses said it appeared around 9:45am. Pakistani forces immediately fired a rocket to eliminate it.
Thursday also saw a major offensive by India, with multiple drone attacks across Pakistan. Military officials confirmed that 25 Indian drones were shot down during that wave. Sadly, those attacks caused the deaths of three civilians. Four Pakistani soldiers and several others were also injured.
