LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhary Parvez Elahi reaffirmed his commitment of standing by party chairman Imran Khan.
During discussions with reporters on Thursday outside the court, Elahi asserted, “I stand by Imran Khan and will continue to be there for him.”
Expressing optimism about PTI’s performance in the upcoming elections, he confidently predicted that they would secure a substantial number of votes, surprising their rivals.
Elahi reiterated his commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Imran Khan. He shared his experience of being in a cell adjacent to Imran Khan in Adiala Jail and claimed that delegations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union had visited the Prime Minister during his confinement.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench has demanded a comprehensive report within a week regarding a petition addressing the insufficient facilities provided to Chaudhary Parvez Elahi in Adiala Jail.
During the court proceedings, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan, Elahi’s advocate, argued for enhanced facilities corresponding to his client’s political and social standing. The lawyer highlighted alleged interference during meetings, disrupting meaningful discussions in family and lawyer interactions. Additionally, he emphasized that lawyers are not allowed to carry essential materials like paper and pen for note exchange during these meetings.
