According to sources the police, led by SP City Division Tayyab Jan, successfully exposed a dangerous gang that posed as polio workers to breaking into houses in the inner city, robbing families at gunpoint.
Acting on a complaint from Shah Muhammad, who was robbed of cash, gold, and phones on November 6, 2023, the police initiated a comprehensive investigation.
Utilizing modern scientific methods, including obtaining CCTV footage, geo-tagging, and mobile phone data analysis, they traced the gang’s movements.

The accused were residents of Matni, Qazi Clay, Hasangarhi, and Badh Bir. The arrested individuals, with a criminal history extending to incidents in Punjab, were recently released from Adiala Jail.
Subsequent investigations revealed their involvement in multiple incidents in both Peshawar and other districts. Stolen items, such as cash, gold ornaments, and mobile phones, were recovered during the operation.
The arrested suspects provided additional names of gang members, who are currently being pursued.
