ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, a significant meeting involving Barrister Gohar Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a high-profile figure came to light. The meeting reportedly took place in Peshawar, sparking rumors that Gohar met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
According to sources, the meeting focused on the current political tensions in Pakistan. The issue of PTI workers still in custody was also discussed. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was part of the meeting.
Sources revealed that Barrister Gohar Khan was summoned from Islamabad for this crucial discussion. During the meeting, Imran Khan’s imprisonment was a central topic. Discussions also centered on keeping Imran Khan informed about the political climate in the country.
The participants agreed on the importance of resolving all issues through dialogue. After the meeting, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were briefed on its outcomes. However, Barrister Gohar denied meeting with the Army Chief.
On Thursday, CM Gandapur visited the Parliament House in Islamabad. While speaking to the media, he confirmed the meeting with General Asim Munir. Gandapur also stated that other PTI leaders were present during the discussions with the COAS.
The meeting underscores efforts to address political challenges in Pakistan through communication and engagement.
