RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted an application to the deputy commissioner’s office seeking permission for a public rally on September 28 in Rawalpindi.
The request, made by PTI leaders Ghulam Husnain, Owais Younis, and Nabeel Satti, asks for the use of either Liaquat Bagh or Bhatta Chowk.
In their application, PTI cited the Pakistani constitution, which allows political parties to conduct their activities, and requested a No Objection Certificate (NoC) for the rally. The deputy commissioner’s office has received the request.
In a video message released on Sunday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced plans for a public gathering in Mianwali on the upcoming Sunday, followed by another event in Rawalpindi and other cities.
Gandapur asserted, “What should I apologize for? I have done nothing that warrants an apology. If you want to file cases, go ahead.” He criticized the ruling parties for their “unconstitutional activities” and emphasized that the nation supports democracy, the constitution, and PTI founder Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for 414 days. He condemned those responsible for Khan’s removal and vowed to continue the fight for justice.
