Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially declared a state of emergency throughout the province. All law enforcement bodies, including the Punjab Police, have been placed on high alert. Security has been intensified in every district to counter any potential threat.
The decision follows the recent escalation along the border. CM Maryam Nawaz condemned the Indian strike, calling it cowardly and provocative. She said the entire nation is united, determined, and ready to respond with full strength.
“Protecting every inch of our country is both my oath and my faith,” she stated. Referring to past national victories, she reminded the public, “The enemy attacked in May. We will respond like we did on May 28, 1998.” She added that every child in Pakistan will pass this test with pride, aided by the grace of Allah.
As part of the state of emergency, the Punjab government has shut down all educational institutions across the province. All exams scheduled for today have been postponed to ensure safety.
The health sector has also been mobilised. Leaves for all doctors, nurses, and paramedics have been cancelled with immediate effect. Medical staff have been ordered to return to their hospitals and health units without delay to prepare for any medical crisis.
District administrations across all 36 districts of Punjab have also been placed on emergency footing. Officers from Civil Defense and other essential departments have been summoned back to work under the new state of emergency.
CM Maryam Nawaz underlined the importance of unity in this critical time. “This is not merely a military response. It is a test of our national spirit and our collective will,” she declared. She reaffirmed that the emergency situation is being handled with full seriousness and focus.
The declaration of this state of emergency signals a complete mobilisation of civilian and security resources. The government has made it clear that national security, public safety, and unity will remain top priorities in the days to come.
