ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad on Thursday approved bail to PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan in the anti-state propaganda case. Despite this, the PTI leader will remain in custody.
Duty Magistrate Abbas Shah, a judge of the special court established to hear cases under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA) Act, 2016, delivered the verdict.
Hasan will not be released from jail today because, on Wednesday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) handed him over to the counter-terrorism department (CTD) for a two-day remand in a separate terrorism case. His remand will conclude tomorrow.
Raoof Hasan, along with eight other members of PTI’s media cell, has been granted bail in the case against bail bonds worth Rs. 50,000.
