Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal forward, has surpassed one billion followers across his social media platforms, a milestone bolstered by the rapid success of his new YouTube channel, which has already garnered over 60 million subscribers in just over three weeks.
Ronaldo, who recently scored his 900th career goal to lead Portugal to a 2-1 victory over Croatia in the Nations League, is now the first individual to reach a billion social media followers, according to global media reports.

“We’ve made history, reaching one billion followers!” Ronaldo celebrated on X. “This milestone is more than just a number; it represents our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond. You’ve been with me through all the highs and lows. This journey is ours together… thank you for your belief, support, and for being part of my life.”
The 39-year-old, who leads Forbes’ list of highest-paid athletes this year with $60 million in off-field earnings, attributes much of his financial success to his massive social media presence. His following includes over 639 million on Instagram, 170 million on Facebook, and 113 million on X.
Ronaldo’s current club, Al-Nassr, is set to face Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
