In a recent intelligence-driven operation, security forces successfully dismantled a prohibited network linked to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Karachi.
On Thursday, 17 terrorists, including a prominent commander, were apprehended. The detained individuals were implicated in various criminal activities, such as target killings, ransom, and dacoity cases.
The terrorists had devised plans to extort funds from traders, targeting political and religious leaders to instigate a law and order crisis in the country.
Notably, these arrested terrorists, initially disguised as madrassa students, were brought into Pakistan by the banned TTP.
Operating within the TTP network from 2007 to 2014, the individuals played significant roles in carrying out attacks on security forces and non-governmental organizations at various locations.
The operation marks a significant breakthrough in counter-terrorism efforts.
