RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully neutralized 10 Khawarij terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
According to the ISPR statement, the operations were carried out in response to reports of Khawarij presence. In Dera Ismail Khan’s Khulachi area, an intelligence-led operation was initiated, where security forces engaged the Khawarij location. This resulted in the elimination of four terrorists.
In a series of separate encounters in North Waziristan district, security forces exchanged fire with the terrorists in Datta Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan, and Mir Ali. As a result, six more Khawarij terrorists were neutralized.
The operations, carried out on Thursday and Friday, also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the killed terrorists, who had been involved in numerous attacks against security forces and innocent civilians in the region.
ISPR further stated that sanitization operations are continuing to clear any remaining Khawarij in the area. The security forces are committed to eradicating terrorism from the country and have intensified efforts against Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, with nearly daily operations.
In recognition of these efforts, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces. President Zardari reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to completely eliminating Fitna-ul-Khawarij and stressed that security forces would continue operations until all terrorists are eradicated.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the government’s dedication to completely eradicating terrorism, emphasizing the collaboration between the government and security forces in this mission.
Interior Minister also commended the security forces, highlighting the nation’s support for the forces in their efforts to thwart terrorist activities.
