Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to intensify the fight against terrorism, promising to crush terrorist threats once and for all. He chaired a crucial meeting on the law and order situation in Islamabad. During the session, he reaffirmed the government’s strong resolve to wipe out terrorism from Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s enemies feel threatened by the country’s recent economic achievements. He emphasized that the fight against terrorism would continue until complete peace and stability return to the nation. Shehbaz Sharif praised the relentless courage and sacrifices of the security forces. He saluted the officers and soldiers who risk their lives daily to confront terrorists.
The Prime Minister also applauded the role of provincial governments and state institutions. Their combined counter-terror efforts, he said, show real strength and unity. Shehbaz Sharif assured that the federal government would fully back all provinces in enhancing their ability to defeat terrorism and extremism. He stressed that the joint stance of the federation and provinces in the fight against terrorism is a major step forward.
Calling for nationwide unity, the Prime Minister urged all stakeholders to leave their differences behind. He invited them to unite their efforts to eliminate terrorism permanently. He highlighted that a collective approach is key to securing the nation’s future.
Besides focusing on the fight against terrorism, Shehbaz Sharif issued fresh instructions to law enforcement. He ordered them to intensify action against smuggling activities. He demanded strict action against human trafficking networks and ensured that those involved would face justice.
The Prime Minister also pointed to the urgent need for completing Safe City projects across major cities. He said these security projects are critical to improving urban safety and supporting the ongoing battle against terrorism and extremism.
During the meeting, authorities gave a detailed briefing. It was revealed that a National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center has been set up under NACTA. Additionally, a new forensic science agency has started operating in Islamabad. Efforts are also underway to further upgrade the existing forensic facility in Punjab to strengthen investigations.
