An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has ordered fresh non-bailable arrest warrants against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and three other individuals named in a terrorism-related case.
The Sohail Afridi arrest warrant was issued alongside warrants for Meena Khan Afridi, Shahid Khattak and Shafi Jan. All four are accused in Case No. 975/24, which was originally registered at Ramna Police Station in Islamabad.
Details of the Ramna Police Station Case
The case against the four accused was filed under terrorism-related charges and other serious legal provisions. According to court documents, the FIR names Sohail Afridi, Meena Khan Afridi, Shahid Khattak and Shafi Jan as the primary suspects.
As hearings in the matter progressed, the ATC moved to reissue arrest warrants for all four men, citing their continued absence from court proceedings. The bench has now instructed law enforcement to ensure their appearance without further delay.
Court Directs SHO to Execute Arrest Warrants
The presiding judge has directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ramna Police Station to personally oversee the arrests. Under the court’s order, police officials are required to take the four accused into custody and produce them before the ATC as part of the ongoing legal process.
Because the warrants have been classified as non-bailable, police cannot release any of the accused on bail at the station level. This means Sohail Afridi, along with Meena Khan Afridi, Shahid Khattak and Shafi Jan, must be physically brought before the court so that proceedings in Case No. 975/24 can move forward.
